Facing fourth and goal from the five-yard line, Kaepernick threw a fade to Michael Crabtree, who was engaged with cornerback Jimmy Smith. The ball sailed over Crabtrees outstretched hands and out of bounds. Jim Harbaugh begged for a flag but none flew.
